In my opinion, this is the most rocking song on The Lamb. It's simplicity is misleading. Phil's drumming is actually quite complex (isn't it always?) and it took some time to get all his little accents down on the drum MIDI track.
Steve have 3 distinct guitar sounds on the song. The verses, the chorus and the short lead part. All of these sounds were created using nothing but software for the amps and speaker cabinets. I used a vintage FANE HiWatt Impulse Response on the verse and lead section and a FENDER Impulse Response on the chorus guitar.
There has been quite a bit of discussion on the internet about how Tony got his synth sound on The Lamb but during the middle section, the ARP effect is simply some delay added during mixdown and it isn't an echoplex done before mixdown. Listen to it and see for yourself if this sounds like the ARP on the original track.
There is a tricky section that still needs some work and that is recreating the sound of the FLUTE trons during the end section and the TRON strings and ELKA during the middle section. There is something tricky going on here and perhaps I will have some type of vision on how Tony and Johnnie Burns recorded and mixed the Trons.
But, enjoy the song and arrangement and I will do an update once the new samples become available.
